More often than not, we tend to take some things for granted. We must constantly remember to value communication with people we have a close relationship with. We also need to recognize the need to emphasize emotional regulation. We often forget to care for ourselves because we think other things matter more.
But taking care of yourself is a radical act in a fast-paced world. It’s also part of regulating your emotions and ensuring you feel well in multiple ways. Self-care, whether we like it or not, is essential. It is also holistic. In turn, taking care of our hygiene is part of that.
Here are what we’d like to see in a personal hygiene kit!
Antibacterial Wipes
You use the spoon and fork dispenser to avoid contact with dirt and other impurities. If restaurants use those for hygiene, we have something of our own to help us keep our hands germ-free, especially if we go to places without water or soap. Thankfully, we’ve got antibacterial hand wipes!
They’re great to bring when traveling since they give you the same protection that an antibacterial hand wash would provide. If you are with young children, you can use antibacterial wipes to wipe sticky fingers – even before those fingers make direct skin contact with your kids’ faces.
Aside from wiping your hands, the wipes can help clean and disinfect surfaces. They are very effective and clean down dirty surfaces with ease. Compared to other cleaning products, antibacterial wipes do not have residues like grease or grime after usage. As a result, you get cleaner and bacteria-free surfaces!
Soap
If you’re traveling, you might as well bring the soap. You’ll need soap to help cleanse your body. You’ll also require it to wash your hands. You may also need to be discerning about the soap you use on your body and face.
Ideally, it would help if you did not use soap on your face because it can worsen your sensitive or acne-prone skin. Instead, you can utilize a facial cleanser since it is formulated for the face.
Alcohol
When in need of a quick clean, alcohol comes in clutch! Alcohol for sanitizing the hands contains isopropanol, ethanol, n-propanol, or a mixture of these as the ingredients most dominant in the mix. Denature and coagulate proteins cause antimicrobial activity found in alcohol. As a result, microbes become defunct due to losing their protective coatings.
Toothbrush
Another non-negotiable is the toothbrush! Good hygiene and self-care mean brushing your teeth, so pack a toothbrush and taste wherever you go. A toothbrush that’s easier to bring is your best bet. That way, your packing won’t be bulky. Moreover, your toothbrush must be firm enough for easier gripping and brushing.
Be careful, and choose your toothbrush wisely!
Deodorant
Lastly, it would help if you had the deodorant. They can eliminate the armpit odor and are usually alcohol-based. They also mask odor through the supplement of perfume. Deodorants are formulated to eliminate armpit odor but not perspiration. They’re typically alcohol-based. They make your skin acidic when applied, making it less attractive to bacteria.
Deodorants also commonly contain perfume to mask the odor. For those who may have problems with sweating, though, antiperspirants are the better alternative because they actively stop your underarms from sweating.
Wrapping Up
Personal hygiene is one aspect of self-care that people underrate. Most people have conflated self-care with lying in bed and binging. However, it is not. But having your hygiene kit and using it is also self-care. Now that we have rounded up what should be in the personal hygiene kit, this article will help you make your own.
